Karen M. Davis Barren Metcalfe Commonwealth Attorney
Karen M. Davis is a lifelong resident of Barren County. She is a product of both school systems, having attended Liberty Street Elementary and Barren County High School. She then attended Kentucky State University, having received a Presidential Scholarship and graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1988. She completed internships in both the Legislative Research Commission and the Attorney General's Office while in college.
Karen continued her education at Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University on a Commonwealth's Scholarship earning her law degreee and being admitted to the practice of law in 1991.
After law school, Karen engage in a one-year clerkship for Judges Francis, Minton and Lewis in Warren Circuit Court. Karen was then hired by Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Charles Reynolds as a law clerk, staying on with the Court as a staff attorney for 6 years. Karen also taught law-related classes in the paralegal program at Draughn's Junior College at the time; dividing her time between Frankfort, Glasgow and Bowling Green.
In January of 1999, Karen began working locally as an Assistant County Attorney for Jeff Sharp. In July of 1999, Karen was hired as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney under Phil Patton. Davis was officially appointed Commonwealth's Attorney in December 2001, and was elected in 2002 and to fulfill the unexpired term of Patton.

Karen, her husband, and her 2 children attend Glenview Christian Church where she is involved each year in the production of the Living Christmas Tree. Davis was named as Glasgow Business and Professional Women's Club - Woman of Achievement for the year of 2000. Karen was also appointed as a board member to the Community Corrections Commission. Karen is also the facilitator for the local Mult-Disciplinary team for the Investigation, Prosecution and Treatment of Child Abuse. Davis is also a graduate of Glasgow Barren County Leadership Program along with a Graduate of Leadership Kentucky.

Karen participates in the annual Heart Walk as well as the annual Christmas Parade. Karen was named the 2002 Democratic Woman of the Year. Karen was the 2002-2003 Vice President of the Glasgow BPW (Business and Professional Women's Club) and a member of both the Glasgow Barren County Chamber of Commerce and The Metcalfe County Edmonton Chamber of Commerce. Karen was the 2004-2005 President of the Barren County Bar Association.
